About EDI

Exhibition Design Intensive (EDI) is a program offered by Pratt Institute to second-year graduate students in Interior Design. EDI is a two-semester immersion into the study of exhibitions of all kinds and is an alternative to traditional thesis work. Design projects are supplemented by field trips, group discussions, and project critiques with practicing exhibit design professionals.

Students spend the fall semester learning the basics of exhibition design and working in teams to create a range of studio projects. In the spring, they work with clients on actual projects and are challenged as professionals to create real-world exhibitions from conception to design to fabrication to installation.

Alliances with museums, design firms, and companies continue to grow with each successful project realization.
